So i went to Solo & Ensemble today. Which is a thing where you go and preform a solo, duet, exc. and they give you a rating. Either a one, two, or three. One being the best. Three being the worst. And ones arent handed out very easily. So I went today and preformed a solo, and a duet with my friend Cece. I GOT A ONE ON BOTH OF THEM, OMG. I'M SO FUCKING HAPPY YOU HAVE NO IDEA.
After almost three months of hard work, practicing, criticism, being told i couldn't do it, I FINALLY GOT A ONE. It all paid off. I cried sooooo much over that one fucking piece of music. I practiced for HOURS and HOURS. The super cool part is, my band director Mr. Derosso told me, when i picked that solo, that i couldn't do it. I PROVED THAT HOE WRONG. He was all like "You know, Cassandra, this solo is extremely difficult for anyone to play. Especially a freshman. I think you should strongly consider a different piece". I was like, "OH HEEEELLLL NAWWW" and i did it. Mwahahahahahahaa. I win (: Me and Cece also got our pictures professionally taken with our flutes. Those should but up soon but for now i just have a picture of my metals (:
Me friends Ben and Octavious did a alto sax solo, and did a trio with my sister Lyn. Octavious did a bassoon solo and earned a one too (: I'm so happy for all of us, it was an amazing day., We all went out to lunch to celebrate. Ps, at Solo and Ensemble there were A LOT of cute band nerds. Hahaha ohyes. It was amazing. Guys who can play an instruments are SEXYYY. Lol. So I made it to State Solo & Ensemble for my duet AND solo. I'm so happy you have no idea. :D
